Call of the Wild

Kai and Sunny's thinking extends beyond their core illustrative backgrounds to their work with high-end fashion labels, 3D objects, collaborating with artists and their own clothing label, Call of the Wild. Working between New York and London, next year sees them launch a collaborative clothing label with James Lavelle and Surrenderous.

Thought I'd put together a list of some of the bikes I've owned since I was a lad, a timeline of bikes or bikeline. Would be interested to hear about and see other peoples bikeline history. Maybe we'll add a bikeline sub heading to despoke? The most treasured bike was my silver Strika. I remember the trouble my father had trying to fit in in the back of our mini to get it back home. ‘HALLOWEEN’ FOR DESPOKE

Turning back the clocks denotes one old tradition, Halloween. It’s origins date back from the ancient festival known as Samhain (pronounced sow-in or sau-an), which is derived from Old Irish and means roughly “summer’s end”. For me, it’s the appeal of finding those extra pair of werewolf feet from a pound store, it’s rekindles my earliest memories of watching Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby, running stage right from a Blue Peter made ghoul.

The season always brings out the terrible horror flicks, and the Hammer House of Horrors still gets me diving behind the sofa.

I’ve always enjoyed the way we scare ourselves with what amounts to our chassis, the skeleton. Hang a few of them around the house, don’t dust for a few months, and do your best at dissecting a pumpkin, and hey voila!
A recent visit to PAD London, brought me to meet Italian artist Antonio Cagianelli, whose oversized skulls were a reminder of our fascination with death and the symbols we annually decorate our environment with at this time of year.

Antonio tells me, his current project involves, transferring his own three-dimensional creations by using the language of marginality and fragility of young metropolitan communities, Trick or treat anyone?

The Blank of Ideas is born

just back from The Blank of Ideas project at 100% Design London. We met some lovely people ate a lot of kitkats and had some fascinating conversations. It was great to share ideas with people across different generations around one table. Here are the 2 questions we debated:

What if designers left the job half done?

In an information rich world what are / will be the best ways to find one's way?

The Blank needs you!

The Blank of Ideas is born at London's 100% Design show and evolves as a creative engine for socially responsive design briefs facilitated by Corridor.

Using a free 6m x 6m empty space, the Corridor Collective have transformed the blank into an opportunity for both young design graduates and industry protagonists to meet, think and debate some bigger questions.

See attached one-pager and visual. We are asking for a range of creative minds to join us and participate.
